Pursuit - Officer Vaughn Baker - Strategos Co-Founder

This clips brings you to the end of a
high-speed pursuit following an initial stop for driving
under the influence. The pursuit ends, the subject (6'
1" approx 215 lbs.) exits his vehicle, throws his
keys down and begins to irrationally start yelling for
the police to shoot him. Officer Vaughn Baker enters
from the flank, calmly places his hands on the subject
and then applies what we term a "rear cut down".
The others officers watching questioned Mr. Baker as
to what he did to so quickly and easily drop the subject
to the ground.

This clips starts with Vaughn talking with
a business owner who called to have Vaughn remove a recently
fired female employee. The female upon getting the news
of termination had done some property damage the day before.
She was back for more. Vaughn persuaded her to leave the
premises. She did. Unfortunately for her, she decided to
find out how fast her Suburban could go in the parking
lot. She has a very young child in the car. Vaughn stopped
her with the intention of arresting her for reckless endangerment
(He knew the child was in the car). The contact starts
off fairly amiably, but then the female driver decides
she no longer wants to cooperate. Struggle, vehicle removal, "Rear
Cut-Down". You see Vaughn going back to the vehicle
momentarily to try and calm the now screaming young child.
When the husband arrived, he was happy to see her arrested.
His comments were something along the line that she treats
everyone as if she was a ruling princess....

He is initiating an arrest when the suspect attempts to resist. The suspect
trying to spin and bring his right arm around to change his position. He
is immediately taken down with a "Rear Cut-Down". Note the right
arm releasing and now being used to brace his inevitable fall. This is called "Changing

This officer had 2 hours of instruction of PCR thru his DT instructor who
is one of our certified PCR instructors. The "gentleman" in the
video contacted and immediately began to verbally challenge the officers,
stating that he would kill the first officer who tried to arrest him. He
points to his genitalia in the video and pompously walks out into the street.
He then appears to go with the program, but as the cuffs are being put on
(where it begins quite often), he starts to pull away. The officer delivers
a "rear cut-down" and the subject really offers no serious resistance
after that point.

Recently released from prison the gentlemen started
his week off by molesting a child. Brought in for questioning by
Phoenix PD detectives, the suspect escapes by using a makeshift shank
from a chair within the department. He stabs the detective questioning
him and breaks through the department's front window. A local news
camera crew captures the rest on video.
